Artist Statement:
I am a silversmith/jewelry artist who makes distinctly textured and clean-lined jewelry and silverware primarily using precious metals, occasionally combined with unconventional materials such as felt, rubber & steel. My BA in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts is from London Metropolitan University. A Denver native, I currently reside and work in Aurora, CO. I teach privately and in educational institutions. My work is available at galleries in Colorado & New Mexico; in several private USA and European collections, and the Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art in Denver. “Tickle Me”, was inspired by my playing with materials. Contrast is an important design principle found in my work. The industrial materials paired with the precious metal and the qualities that they each posses’ just ‘tickled me’. when I made it. This ring continues to amuse me, especially today, as it reminds me of a square version of the COVID microscopic virus image.
