Artist Statement: Welcome to New Mexico, the land of Enchantment. From Roadrunners to Yucca plants and the skies above to the soil below, New Mexico is rich with colors and culture. This ring is made with Tyrone Turquoise mined here in the State of NM. Our state flag with the Zia front and center. There are details of a cast roadrunner (the state bird) escaping an alien abduction in the middle of the day, with our alien friends are lurking on the ring band just on the other side.

Artist Bio: Debbie Jo Baxter was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Baxter received her BFA in May 2019 from New Mexico State University, with a focus of Sculptural ceramics. She now lives in Las Cruces, NM works full-time at Heart of the Desert Pistachios and Wine. After work and on her days off she is working on making jewelry in her home studio. Baxter mainly uses sterling silver and turquoise. Her designs are playful yet timeless. When she is not working or in the studio you can find her at the dirt track slinging mud in her racecar.
