Yushan Cassie Sun is the founder of Solotus. She is from China, and she is a jewelry artist, metalsmith, pole dancer and feminist. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Craft&Material study with a minor in painting and print making. She used to work in Seattle, USA as bench jeweler and gallery assistant. Her works were shown in Beijing, China; Seattle, WA; Richmond, VA etc. Cassie received many grants and scholarship during her time in the US, including international research grant from VCU, student scholarship from Penland, Society of North American Goldsmiths, Arrowmont as well as American Craft Council conferences. Cassie is an active member of Ethical Metalsmiths, Society of North American Goldsmiths, former president of Contemporary Craft Society at VCU.
