Twyla Dill

Twyla, the hands and heart behind Twyla Dill Design. She started making jewelry to bring something different to the market. Her jewelry combines hand-habricated metal with crocheted lace - for an aesthetic you won't find anywhere else. Five years ago, in Istanbul, Turkey, her friend's mom sat her down with an old T-shirt and a crochet hook so small she could hardly see the tip. Over the next hour she learned the basics of lace crochet, called 'oya' in Turkish, a lace traditionally crocheted on the edge of headscarves. She's been making lace ever since. Twyla feels jewelry is the perfect way to share this beautiful art with as many people as possible.
