Beneficiary: I have chosen Border Kindness because their humanitarian aid is essential- especially now.  Taken from their website as I'd like to use their words, "Border Kindness provides migrants, refugees, and the displaced with food, shelter, clothing, transportation, medical, and legal services.  Life for asylum-seekers is growing even more desperate as the  COVID-19 virus makes its way into the border towns where thousands of families are huddled along the US/Mexico border. Border Kindness has (and will) continue to provide services to asylum-seekers (and local families in great need) throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

100% of the proceeds from the sale of this necklace will be donated to Border Kindness.

Artist Statement: I am grateful to Dana for the motivation and inspiration to make a statement during these challenging times. At the bench I began to take out materials to brainstorm on the challenge and found a blue wave I had cut out of an aluminum corrugated sample some years ago. "Change the tide" immediately came into my mind and I went about constructing the scene.  This year has brought challenges, loss, and heartache compounded with COVID-19 for all, especially those who were already struggling.  My piece is one of hope that we can "CHANGE THE TIDE" of this year, of our history, be it politically, socially, economically, and environmentally.
