Dana Fear - Magic Ring

Artist: Dana Fear
Materials: sterling silver, 14k gold
Size: 8.5
Dimensions: 1/4" off finger, 5mm band width

Artist Statement:
Five heavy gauge square wires appear to defy gravity, as if by magic, as they slide up and down with the movement of the wearer. This unique kinetic ring gently calls for your attention as the movement produces a bright and crisp sound reminiscent of falling rain.

Artist Bio:
Dana C. Fear is a studio metalsmith living in rural lower northern Michigan (the pinky) with her three school-age children. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metals from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. After breaking a ten year hiatus from her bench several years ago, she is now working on developing her unique line of kinetic jewelry that explores the responsive relationship between the piece and the person wearing it. When she's not in the studio or being "mom" you'll find her at the beach, hiking one of the many beautiful area trails or rowing in her single.
