Artist Statement:
I am an artist, jeweler, metalsmith, and people-smith. I spend most of my time teaching, helping, and mentoring teenagers on how to make jewelry and metal art at a public high school. These days I teach and connect with my students from a distance online and have live meetings with them from my own basement studio. Oscillate, the title of my ring, is fitting for how I’ve been feeling since the COVID-19 crisis. Although I’ve barely left my home my feelings and thoughts about how to deal is constantly moving and moods are swinging. The movement of these wire drop shapes remind me of falling tears, to which I am no stranger. The swinging motion and gentle clinking sounds relax me.text
